Taking a project through its full life cycle

Ekistics Planning and Design along with Form:Media took a lead role in a series of projects for the Town of Bridgewater’s downtown core. The project required the varied expert input from numerous in-house disciplines, as well as a comprehensive public participation program, which was an exciting prospect as it covered the full implementation cycle from initial concept design to construction design and implementation.

Ekistics consolidated a wide variety of historical work and developed an innovative long term redevelopment plan for the area. The plan included a variety of infrastructure improvements, and the recapturing of the old downtown waterfront area along King Street. The resulting Master Plan led directly into the detailed design for Phase 1, and featured recommendations such as the removal of the deteriorating concrete and steel south parking structure, as well as the full upgrade of King Street including the construction of the visionary Pijinuiskaq Park.
