• On to Louisbourg

    February 2012
A.L. Arbic Consulting has asked Form:Media and Lord Cultural Resources to assist with the development of a three-year plan for the Fortress Louisbourg Association. Our work will help the association determine how best to move forward with their operations over the coming years to increase visitor attendance as well as the range and depth of public programming at this historic, world-renowned site.
  • Flights of Imagination

    January 2012
Form:Media is delighted to work with staff from Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site to develop a timeline exhibit for the visitor centre's main foyer. This work is part of Parks Canada's ongoing renewal efforts at the site, as they consult with local design firms to strategically upgrade exhibits in select areas of the visitor centre. The feature timeline exhibit is one of the first to be tackled, and is expected to be installed by March.
  • We've Been Busy

    January 2012
Archival reviews, market studies, stakeholder workshops, design charettes, and interviews with a host of distinguished historians and politicians—the Colonial Building has kept us busy. Make no mistake: we've enjoyed every minute of our time on the Rock this past year. When not talking with such notable names as Lt. Gov. John Crosbie and former Lt. Gov. Edward Roberts, time was spent exploring potential visitor experiences with the folks at PHS and determining the best means to interpret the fascinating stories that have emerged during our extensive research phase. Next up? More planning, detailed design, and a focus on multimedia applications and visitor programs that will help communicate the history and evolution of this remarkable building.
  • Musée at Fort Saint-Jean

    January 2012
In collaboration with Skyline Atlantic Canada and The Phoenix Consultancy, Form:Media has been invited to undertake an exhibit relocation and renewal project for the Musée du Fort Saint-Jean. Located at the Collège Militaire Royale du Canada (CMR) in Saint-Jean sur Richelieu, Quebec, the museum celebrates the history of this 17th century fort and its key role in the defense of British North America during the American War of Independence. Moving from a soon-to-be demolished chapel into a recently renovated historic building on the base, the new exhibits will interpret the fort's military history, the Canadian Army regiments born at Saint Jean, and the story of the CMR—one of Canada's foremost military colleges. Featuring a design-build approach, the project is due to be installed by April, 2012.
