In 2014, Form:Media was contracted to develop an Interpretive Action and Investment Plan for Fort Anne National Historic Site. One scenario suggested a focus on redeveloping the interpretive program at the site’s Officers Quarters among other changes to the site to improve the visitor experience. Many of the recommendations are currently underway, with Ekistics Planning and Design taking the lead on changes to the site and infrastructure.
In early 2016, Mr. Crawford and team were contracted to address a number of architectural and landscape projects identified in the plan. They are adding a roof membrane and waterproofing the roof for the fort’s historic bunker in preparation for future public use. The team is working on interior renovations for Parks Canada’s Administrative Building, and the team is working with the client to design a maintenance building that will better serve staff needs.
Working with our Landscape Architecture colleagues, Chris is overseeing renovations to the historic Queens Wharf and surround, and is investigating potential solutions for restoration to the period cast iron fence along the perimeter of the site.
We are pleased for the opportunity to continue our work with the Parks Canada—we look forward to sharing the outcome.
