The focus of this community planning process was on the Bedford Water front, a study area defined as being located between the Bedford Highway and the Basin, from the former Boutlier boat yard property at the south end of Shore Drive, to the Clearwater Seafood property on the Bedford Highway. This study area is comprised of the following four major properties:

  • The Bedford Water front Phase 2 infill lands, owned by the Water front Development Corporation Limited.
  • The adjacent lands along the Bedford Highway currently occupied by the Travelers and Esquire motels.
  • The former boat yard property on Shore Drive
  • The Sobey’s Plaza, together with the adjacent Crombie undeveloped lands and the Moirs Pond area.
