Halifax's first urban plaza
Ekistics prepared the detailed design for a $6m upgrade to Argyle and Grafton Streets in the heart of downtown Halifax. The project was the first ‘shared street’ design in Atlantic Canada, designed to accommodate both cars and pedestrians. Ekistics lead the conceptual design using one of the first Virtual Reality designs for an urban project in Halifax combining LIDAR, with 3D models and VR headsets. The firm was responsible for working drawings, specifications and construction administration.
